Brabus Bodo Cabriolet

DRIVEN BY LEGACY

Every great automotive story begins with a vision. For BRABUS, that vision belonged to Bodo Buschmann — a man who believed that boundaries existed to be challenged and that true automotive excellence should never settle for ordinary.

In 1977, in Bottrop at the heart of Germany’s Ruhr region, Bodo transformed his passion for automobiles into an ambition that would become one of the worlds most recognised names in high-performance luxury motoring. What began as an idea developed into a lifelong pursuit of innovation, individuality and engineering excellence.

For more than four decades, Bodo shaped the character of BRABUS, continually challenging his team to push further and redefine what was possible. To him, a car was never simply a means of transportation. It was an expression of identity, ambition and character. His philosophy continues to influence BRABUS today, with his legacy reflected in every vehicle bearing the name.

One vision, however, remained unfinished.

One car was yet to be created.

Design & Exterior. SILK STONE.

Like the BODO Gran Turismo Coupe, the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET features a complete carbon fibre body manufactured using advanced pre preg technology, combining exceptional strength with minimal weight. Finished in BRABUS “Silk Stone,” the body is paired with a specially developed two tone black and grey Jacquard soft top. Its inverted BRABUS “77” motif is woven directly into the fabric, creating a subtle three dimensional effect while providing excellent resistance to UV exposure, abrasion and repeated folding.

At the rear, an electrically operated carbon fibre spoiler deploys in stages according to speed, increasing rear axle downforce and improving stability. Under heavy braking above 140 km/h (87 mph), it rotates vertically to act as an air brake. A further inverted “77” emblem beneath the rear window references 1977, the year Bodo Buschmann founded BRABUS.

Measuring 202.7 centimetres (79.8 in.) wide, the rear features seven individual LED elements on each side, a centrally illuminated BRABUS logo and an integrated carbon fibre diffuser framing 3D metal printed titanium twin tailpipes.

The BODO CABRIOLET measures 506.2 centimetres (199.3 in.) long and just 130.5 centimetres (51.3 in.) tall, creating a low, dramatic profile. Its rear bodywork tapers smoothly toward the back, while the distinctive “Bodo Line” runs continuously from nose to rear. Opening the doors also projects a BRABUS logo and stylised graphic onto the ground.

Interior. MASTERPIECE.

Inside the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET, the handcrafted BRABUS Masterpiece interior continues the exterior design language throughout the cabin. Premium leather, bespoke trim and carbon fibre elements across the steering wheel, dashboard, centre console and door panels are coordinated with the exterior, creating a refined and contemporary monochromatic atmosphere.

Stainless steel BRABUS entry panels welcome passengers into ergonomically designed seats that combine long-distance comfort with excellent lateral support during dynamic driving. A flat-bottomed steering wheel provides an optimal grip, while BRABUS carbon fibre pedals and a bespoke footrest enhance the performance-focused character.

A three-dimensional interpretation of the signature BRABUS “Shell” quilting appears across all four seats and continues throughout the leather-trimmed cockpit floor, rear deck, luggage compartment, floor mats and trunk liner. Centrally positioned “Double-B” emblems and BRABUS Masterpiece plaques further highlight the exclusivity of the interior.

Each BODO CABRIOLET is also supplied with individually coordinated accessories, including leather-trimmed vehicle keys and a BRABUS “Weekender” bag matched to the chosen interior specification.

A blockchain-based Digital Product Passport is integrated into a dedicated BRABUS Spec Plate within the luggage compartment. Developed with the Aura Blockchain Consortium, it securely records the vehicle’s authenticity, ownership history and individual specification, providing complete transparency and traceability for every BRABUS Masterpiece produced in Bottrop, Germany.

Power & Sound. GRAN TURISMO CONVERTIBLE.

The BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET is powered by a hand-built 5.2-liter V12 biturbo engine delivering 735 kW / 1,000 hp at 6,400 rpm. Maximum torque stands at 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft), available between 2,900 and 5,000 rpm. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which can also be controlled manually using the carbon fibre BRABUS paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. An electronically controlled rear differential capable of up to 100 percent locking distributes power between the two driven wheels for optimum traction and performance.

Performance is equally formidable. The BODO CABRIOLET accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 3.0 seconds and reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) after just 8.5 seconds. The sprint from standstill to 300 km/h (186 mph) takes 23.9 seconds, while maximum speed is electronically limited to 360 km/h (223 mph).

The BRABUS stainless steel high-performance exhaust system has been engineered with the same attention to detail. Four precisely calibrated metal catalytic converters and specially developed gasoline particulate filters optimize exhaust backpressure throughout the engine’s rev range, improving gas flow and supporting maximum power output. Electronically controlled exhaust valves allow the driver to adjust the sound profile, ranging from a more restrained exhaust note to an intensely sporting V12 soundtrack.

Wheels & Suspension. BESPOKE FORGED.

The Kevlar lined wheel arches of the 2+2-seater house 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z-GT “Platinum Edition” forged wheels. Produced using advanced forging techniques and precision CNC machining, each wheel features 20 concave spokes and a centre lock style hub cover. A polished, paint matched “Silk Stone” finish completes the design.

The forged wheels are paired with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tyres developed specifically for the BRABUS BODO CABRIOLET and also available for the Coupe. Tyre dimensions measure 285/30 ZR 22 at the front and 335/25 ZR 22 at the rear. Both the construction and compound have been specially optimized to provide maximum stability at high speeds while transferring the V12 engine’s enormous power and torque to the road without compromising ride comfort or steering accuracy. In keeping with Pirelli’s Perfect Fit strategy, these bespoke tires carry an exclusive “BB” marking on their sidewalls.

The BRABUS BODO suspension system combines a double wishbone front arrangement with a highly advanced multi-link rear axle. Five selectable driving modes allow the driver to tailor the vehicle’s character directly from the cockpit from a comfort focused configuration suitable for everyday driving to a much firmer setup designed for maximum racetrack performance.

A lifting system is fitted to both the front and rear axles, enabling the entire vehicle to be raised by approximately 25 millimetres (0.9 in.) when additional ground clearance is required. Once the vehicle reaches 45 km/h (28 mph), the suspension automatically returns to its standard ride height.
